Magnesium Supplements Found to Improve Breathing in Kids with Cystic Fibrosis

New research has found that magnesium brings relief to children suffering from cystic fibrosis, a hereditary disease that attacks the secretory glands. These glands are responsible for making you perspire. If you suffer from cystic fibrosis, you have inherited it from both your parents who each have one faulty gene. The irony is that your parents don’t have the disease themselves.

Cystic fibrosis causes damage to the sex organs, sinuses, intestines, liver, pancreas and the lungs

It’s quite clear that this disease needs to be managed in the best way possible.

Because cystic fibrosis attacks the lungs, the risk of impaired breathing is a very real threat. Children especially struggle with their lungs when they have cystic fibrosis.

Thankfully, magnesium has been found to improve breathing in children with the condition. This is according to a study that was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Close to 50 kids were given 300 mg of magnesium for two months. It was noted that all the subjects showed improved breathing after trial.

It’s important to take the right form of magnesium for optimum results. Liquid magnesium supplements are easier to absorb, making them more readily available to the cells. If oral magnesium is too harsh on a young tummy, you should consider giving your child a rub with magnesium oil or let him or her soak in a warm tub with magnesium flakes. These products are all available from Mineralife.

It’s best to take magnesium before retiring to bed as this promotes good sleep as well.
